Congratulations to our Muay Thai team at CSC 36

Ron King III won his re-match bout against Erick Villeda at CSC 36 this past weekend in a hard fought battle.  Thanks to Team Disciple for allowing Ron the opportunity for the rematch so quickly.  Ron continues to improve and show why he was selected to represent the United States this year at the WKA World Championships in Tuscany, Italy.

Despite his opponent showing up nowhere near the weight class, Nate Foster elected to take the fight anyway.  Alas, the discrepancy proved to be too difficult to overcome and lost the match via decision.  Nate looks to avenge this loss in his next fight at TCB Fights, June 15th.

Good luck to our fighters at CSC 36th this Saturday!

Yamasaki Academy of Woodbridge Muay Thai fighters Ron King III and Nathan Foster will both be fighting in the CSC 36 event at the Westin Hotel in Richmond, VA this Saturday, May 4th.  Best of luck to both competitors as they look to go defend their wins from CSC 35!

National beach wrestling results

Yamakasi Academy Woodbridge students Jonathan Escalona and Jowan Lee both take third and Helen Ran takes first at the Beach Wrestling National Championships!  Congratulations to the team and Wrestling Coach Bryon Bruce!

Beach Wrestling tournament this weekend

We will be attending the 2013 Beach Wrestling National Championships in Carolina Beach, NC this weekend.  Yamasaki Woodbridge wrestling coach Bryon Bruce has been preparing the competitors for our very first wrestling tournament and we are excited to test ourselves against seasoned competitors.  Plus it’s at the beach so bonus!  We will not be having the normally scheduled Saturday MMA class or the kids BJJ class April 27th as a result,  however.  Good luck to all the competitors!
